I've always wondered why BNSF seems to order different headlight configurations for the same engines. I've noticed on the first batch of SD70ACe's they ordered roof mounted headlights, and now on the 30 cabs we've just built for EMD for another batch of SD70ACe's going to BNSF they got nose mounted headlights. Actually there was an issue with EMD because the first cab had roof mounted headlights and EMD sent the wrong drawing so that got welded over and the nose was cut to put the headlights there. Is there a specific reason for this or just another way of determining when they were bought or something else?
Alot of the crew`s requests nowadays are for the nose lights so there is less reflection over the nose.
