    There are just some locomotives that even a nice paint scheme can't hide their ugliness.......kinda like spray-painting a piece of dog doo. I'm not talking about bad paint schemes or awful weathering, but diesels that, from the time they were built, really can best be appreciated under the cover of darkness lest milk curdles, small children are scared, and the innocent are made sick from the nauseating ugliness.

    Here is my nomination for such a locomotive:

    SD20 1011, formerly of the Missouri & North Arkansas, now toiling on Dallas, Garland & Northeastern (both roads are owned by RailAmerica), awaiting its 92-day work, Sherman, TX.

    We've seen diesels with ugly colors, now let's see some just-plain-old-coyoteugly diesels.............
