The moveable bars are a good idea and they work very well. You are right that I didn't notice them. I believe this is partly because not many sites use them.

By the way, I was able to take some time for a random look as some of the pictures. You have a excellent collection.

    D,
I had a look at the site again and didn't see the bars you mentioned. Then again, I'm using a 17" at 1152x864, so they probably don't show up there. But they do sound like a good idea. I'll reset the screen and check them out later.
Otherwise, it seems to be coming along well. I still feel the thumbs are downloading slowly, but is offset by the fast 'resize' to full size.
And I have to agree with Pierce. The photos I have looked at are great.

    Gary.

    MANY THANKS.......

The reason many of the images are loading faster as thumbnails is I'm getting some great compression on many images (up to 40%-80%) so they are much smaller. I still hope to stop using the dynamic thumbnails for faster downloading of the pages. I also plan to have the "Full Size" images open in a seperate window rather than the frame too.

The "Bars" will show on all screen sizes. They are the "Horizontal lines" the break the home page into three (3) frames. For the smaller screens 9"-15" they can adjust the bottom to get more of the "Table of Contents" to view. For the larger screen 17"+, you can lower the bar to get more of the center section viewable. I did the same thing with the upper frame it more viewing of the other two(2) frames is needed.

It's been a lot of fun building a collection of collections and I hope to get more D&H fans to offer more amd more images. Pass on my URL to every D&H fan you know so this site can be the number one source of images of the D&H. I'm also looking for D&H related URL's to add to the D&H link page TrainBoard D&H Forum and DHVM.
