Holy cow! I had no idea their roster was so extensive! Now I'm curious- What about earlier diesel power? Did they ever have ALCo units? Or were they an EMD road? Boxcab E50
They were all EMD, although the Ann Arbor, a road they controlled, had some Alco power before the takeover. I'm curious, you give an awful lot of information, but you never cite a source for it. How'd you come up with this list?
The orginal list is located here: http://trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?f=2&i=28660&t=28660 . I asked permission to update it and to repost. Another source is the Canadian National Special interest Group: http://www.cnlines.com/cycl/loco/ The LLPX information is located here: http://forums.railfan.net/forums.cgi?board=CN;action=display;num=1043633931;start=0 All diesels are listed here, all EMD built between 1941 (SW-1/8) and 1979 (GP40-2's 422-425). You've obviously done your homework. Nice job! BTW, one of those ex-GTW diesels is hanging around the ex-MKT yard south of Pryor, OK. The 2215, if I recall correctly. Sorry, no pics- it was dark when I went thru, and I was in a hurry to get back home from Iowa to Texas. It was painted in the yelow & gray UP colors, though. [ 17. You've done quite a job in accumulating so much data! I can imagine long, long hours of digging to get this all together! Boxcab E50
...and frustration Another update coming soon here also. "992 GP-9 to Illinois Central Gulf #8272 " 992 is on the Farmrail system in western Oklahoma, still going strong after her May 1972 rebuilding. http://www.trainweb.org/southwestshorts/fmrc8272.html I keep all my information in a DT&I folder (!) that I got off Ebay. It is an orginal promoting the Railblazer piggyback service in the late 1970's. [ 26. July 2004, 04:24: Message edited by: dti407 ]
