    Hi,

I'm looking for a very detailed P.R.S.L. route map. It needs to have longitude and latitude lines on it, and if each individual track line were depicted that would be nice. Do any of you know if such a map if available?

    Thanks!!!

Lou, detailed railroad track charts do not have longitude and latitude lines on them, and track is generally shown as a straight line, with the curves as dotted lines indicating degree of curvature and degress of arc. There are FRA route maps available by line segment that were done around 1975 to might provide sufficient information, although they do not show each siding. You might also look for US Coast & Geodetic Survey maps, which ARE organized by latitude and longitude, however there are probably over 100 needed to cover the PRSL service area.

Thanks for that info, Gregg!!! Do you know where I can get a hold of the FRA or the US Coast & Geodetic Survey maps?

    Thanks again.

They are government publications, and it is almost impossible to navigate the government websites to find such information, at least for me. The USC&GS maps are available through good map stores. I am sure there is at least one in Chicago and possibly Springfield, as it is the state capital, but they might have to order maps for New Jersey. There is a program available free on the internet with all the FRA maps that can be downloaded, but I do not recall the website. Maybe someone else on Trainboard knows it.
