design woes

    building first layout in 30 yrs, ive been on the net looking for n scale plans, cant seem to find one that fits . my room is 12'X20', i have 3-3'x8' tables,can do a forth,iam trying for double mains, yard,couple of industries, one elevated line, that will handle coal & lumber and will work free of the mains. can be an L or U could even do 8'x9' . the goal is to run the mains and elevated linesfor the gran kids while i switch. any ideas on a plan would be great i just didnt want to end up with a boring oval with switches thanks

    gips, there are some good plans on both the Atlas and Kato sites. Even if you don't use the plans in their whole form, there are some great starting points there.

    Gips:

    Look at the book "101 Trackplans for Model Railroaders" by Linn Wescott. I am positive you can find a trackplan that you could modify to suit your room dimensions. ;)
