Last Saturday(12/28/02),about 8am, On my way up to Cheyenne,to do some trainwatching, My son ,Devin and I had just croosed the Wyoming state line and just got to the top of the hill on I25 when we looked of to the west and seen what looked like a big mess at Speer. So we turn around and got over to Speer and realized that there was a big derailment. We were talking to the man incharge of the clean up and he had said that the derailment happened about 4 that morning. I think that there was a total of 18 cars on the ground (which included 3 tank cars(MCP corn syrup cars,empty). Could not get alot of details as it was still under investigation. i have some pictures of the mess so if you would like to see them please email me as I have no way to post them to the web. Also while I was taking pictures I gave the Person in charge, one of my business cards, so he knew who I was and I think that that made a world of difference as he told just to be careful and don't get to close. I have give out my business card every time some body from the railroad stop and ask what is going on. They have treated me alot better that way.
