Has anyone heard of this manufacture? Delaware Valley Freight Car Corp. P.O. Box 279 Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 I was recently at a train show and bought one of their ACF 3 bay cylindrical hopper cars (decorated for PRR). This car is very nicely detailed! I’ve never heard of this company, but the car has the date “1994” molded on the bottom, so they must have been around for a while. Nothing came up in a search of the achieves. I have quite a few of their hoppers, which I think are pretty nice. I am pretty sure that they are out of business, but many of their car sets continue to show up on ebay.
As I understand it their dies were purchased by Bowser and have since been re-issued. I just resently buoght a three-bay from them and they have also re-issued the two-bay air-slide hopper as well
Yes, many of their molds/castings were purchased by Bowser. I have a few of their cars left (in N scale) that are very nicely decorated. I know that the cylindrical hoppers and Airslide hoppers were picked up, but I don't know what else or if they are still available. Harold
The company was picked up by Bowser within the last couple of years. These are great cars with many numbers released in each style and road. You got a good car. Jerry
I have several of the Delaware Valley cars that I bought on eBay. Here is a pix of one of the cars that I have weathered.
See the Bowser N product line here ===== http://www.bowser-trains.com/nscale/nscale.htm ===== The cylindrical and Airslide hoppers are the former Delaware Valley cars eNjoy
I have about 2 dozen of these, mostly 6-bays. They are nice looking, and run good, too. I have 5 custom-painted and 1 kitbashed into BN. Also 6 more original DV BN cars. Old-school!!! Oh, and I just can't forget this: GO RED WINGS!!!!! 10-TIME STANLEY CUP CHAMPS!!!!
