Anyone here know where I can get my hands on a set of undec. or BN/BNSF 6-bay cynd. hoppers? I have an undec. 3 pak of 3-bay variety, but I love the look of the extra bays. I have seen in pictures somewhere an 8-bay covered hopper.. The more bays the better, eh? Can anyone help me? I saw one in N scale model rr, a silver BN 6-bay cynd. hopper, on Bret Overholtzer's superb MKT layout. I want one!!!! [IMG]

I found them! I got 'em fresh from the maker: Bowser. I called in the order after hitting up their website. I got the hoppers for 7.95 rather than the 9.95 advertised price. Word to wise: this is unadvertised, and surprised me upon ordering. :D
I ordered 6 undec, and 7 other decorated ones. NICE. The BN silver cars were out of stock, but will be re-released in new numbers soon. I recommend them to anyone, and they also make GATX airslides. The N-5 cabins are sweet, but BNSF prolly doesn't own any... :(

This may be slightly loff topic but... What is the reason for a car having 3 bays or four or six? Is this related to the commodity carried? What would be carried in a six bay car that would not be carried in a four bay?

No idea. I just think the 6 bay cars look koooool.
I dunno, I have seen 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 bay hoppers.. funny, huh? I think they have separate compartments. I guess so a consumer who needs multiple commodities, and has minimal trackage....
