Heres a few photos of my tall timbers. Most of these trees are 2' tall.

Love the tall pines. As usual your pictures and modeling make me feel as though I could walk right in and take a stroll in the woods.

When you look carefully at all those trees, you begin to realize the amount of work put into each one. And each one is made in O scale.

Paul, those trees look great! I'm going to have to find a way to cross a continent and an ocean to see it in person (with at least one young railfan in tow!).

Looking at those pics, I coulda sworn I saw columbines growing underneath them! Reminds me of hiking thru the forests back in western Colorado.

Paul, you say that track is the same gauge as HO right? only riding on O scale bodies? [IMG]

I may have a good Idea with that type track if I knew what I'm looking at to buy..... Just a short section of it an then to do a few modifications to see if my idea would work.....

As for the trees, you do some kinda work on those! REAL looking. an just.... WOW! Be a nice added "section" to my layout for a shay or so up in the mountains to have a logging industry spur an such. BUT then I'd want a heisler, an possibly a Climax, HA! I like my geared loco's but the "Sidewinders" are my favorites. I love the Shays! :D

Hi Guys and thanks for the replies.
    John,
You are right in saying that the track is the same gauge as HO. The Sleepers(Ties) are wider and thicker then HO. So people are making their own trackwork, but thats not for me. I used Peco 0-16.5 track & Points and when ballasted looks great. I know that the sleepers should really be a little wider, but when buried in grass and dirt they look okay.
    Cheers

So in all reality Paul, that track underneath the regular cars for on it looks smaller an really narrow,..... Interesting. I want to get just a section of this same track to try an idea! Any idea what the rail size is? Like code 100 or so? I might do a real conversion with this type track to give that "logging" feel to my HO scale layout.. inother words have all my HO stuff, an a small logging line/spur to run my Shays on an such, but use that track to have the look of the "rugged" track, compared to my HO scale "mainline" track.... Just, I'll have to take an mille the ties alittle I think. (I have to see this track in hand), before I go an make any investment in it an then it not work....Just to have the difference from the mainline tracks, to the ruggedness of that track for the logging spur.... VERY interesting! :D

    Someone pass the bug spray!
The gnats are getting bad in these woods.
Ooh! ... We're not "really" in the woods.
    Well... Ya' fooled me!

Hmmm.... Then where these bugs com'n from?!

Didn't see any bugs during my visit today, but you should hear the soundtrack of birdsong, etc. plus the sound system for the locomotives! Really brings the layout to life [IMG]

Or, as an alternative, hillbilly music can be provided :D

There is something about the way a scene looks in large scale that is hard to capture in the little scale. Sure, we can show the whole forest, but you've got the trees.

    Paul Templar,

Could you post a 'pull-back' shot showing what the model railroad looks like in as if I was standing in the room? (i.e. gives us all a perspective of the layout in the room, as if we were visiting in person). Thx in advance.......
