Decoder help

    i have a atlas n scale 8 -40cw with ditch light board in it if I put a NCE or ESU decoder do I have to in stall resistors in line with with the lights I was going to use NCE n12ao or the esu drop in with out sound lock pilot I think

    I would say use the ESU LokPilot for the decoder, 100x better overall than NCE decoder!

    As for the light functions I am not sure, I have not used that particular decoder yet. Have you checked the ESU website for the LokPilot Micro Direct?

    It says "LokPilot Micro Direct Micro decoders have 6 function outputs with the possibility of using constant current of 50mA each."

    I believe that this implies the function outputs are already outfitted with resistors. But you may want to double check with someone who does a lot of work with ESU decoders on this site.
