I have a good handle on CSX railfanning sites. I was wondering if there are any easily accessible, non-dangerous areas for seeing NS trains here? It looks like Amtrak uses all the tracks on the NE Corridor of the old Pennsy, which is a shame because those run nearby. They have a few yards off I-95 but I have no clue how to get there. CSX has a lot of nice viewing areas off the old Philadelphia Sub. Does NS have any tracks running NE towards Philly like that? If so, does that division have a name? Thanks!

Yup. They got a large chunk of the Pennsy, that had a significant presence here in Baltimore. The fabled "Northeast Corridor" of the old Pennsylvania. NS has two big yards here that are very hard to get to.

Well, I talked with "Railroad Bob", who told me what's what. Turns out that Amtrak has control of NS's part of the Pennsy. NS can only run trains from 10 pm to 6 am!

When I was younger, I used to sit and watch the Penn Central trains go up the corridor. Very busy route. Today Amtrak uses it very very frequently. But NS because of it's restrictions doesn't use it much (out on the old 4 tracked electrified Pennsy super hwy, NS has only one track to its dedicated all day use).
