I am looking to use my DCC++ system (arduino mega) without a computer on occasions - my son is not yet at a point where he can expect to turn on the computer, launch JMRI, set up the server for connecting to his ipad etc. So, is there a handheld controller that will work with it without the computer? I don't need anything flash, I just need to be able to have a couple of locos and two of geoffb's 17 channel servo boards (although I can restrict the connections used for servos for turnouts). Suggestions? Thanks.
You could build a throttle based on one of Dave Bodnar's designs, as I did. You could quite easily add the fucntionality for turnout control. http://trainelectronics.com/DCC_Arduino/DCC++/Throttle/ Demo of my version
Hi, I'm afraid a haven't got round to documenting my design yet. I am currently in the process of moving home, so my model layout and PC is boxed up. It will be a couple of months before I can continue with the project..... Jim
You can use the WiThrottle app on a mobile to talk directly to DCC++ without a computer to control to locomotives. Note the free version of WiThrottle doesn’t allow you to turn track power on or off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
