A real cheap source for most but not all the colors is regular telephone wire you can get at radio shack. To get stranded 32 gauge wire for use in decoders, you need to go to specialty sources.
I am converting to DCC. I have 18ga stranded "extension cord wire" I bought from Home Depot that I use for the main bus and 22ga speaker wire for feeders. These are connected via wire nuts. Will this work for my Digitrax Zephyr DCC system on a 5x12 layout - wiring comes in at the center - max bus wire length is 9' and feeders are max 4'. I'll be running two trains at a time.
