I have a DCC Prodigy system. I was wondering how many hand helds the system can handle? I see it has 4 ports. I bought 2 Prodigy Extension box’s but they each use 2 ports. I was hoping the system can use more then 4 hand held.

Prodigy or Prodigy Advance. If the former ignore this post, if the later then:

    1. The controller has 1 programming port which you should not use.

    2. The remaining ports are used to run a handheld or a extension box. Only 1 connection needs to be made to each.

    3. Each extension port has 2 slots on the front for controllers to be plugged into. the 2 slot on the back are to be used to plug in an input from the controller or another extension box and an out-put to another. You cna hook these up in series in effect. After a certain number you will need a booster however

Here is the second reply from MRC. :

the 2 plugs in the back come from the base unit [2 ports] to go to tthe
    next
exetnsion plate you need a #AD493 daisy chain adapter
for each plug in the rear to the next plate [msrp $7.95]
you can not interchange handhelds from the prodigy and the prodigy
