Hi all, I promised I would post pictures of the DCC layout I run on every couple of months. I got an email from the layout owner and host that we will have a run session again on the 17th of January. He also included a link to see pictures of the layout that were taken by myself and one of the other members of the group. The link is http://ncng.100megsfree5.com Enjoy, Shannon WP LIVES
Great layout. Your friend must be a rich man I like the pic below. Stefan Railfan`s Homepage Railimages Gallery
I was unable to view this layout, due to bandwidth restrictions. Web space is cheap and will cost you less than a Locomotive. 20M of bandwidth doesn't amount to a **** in a windstorm.
I am sorry that my website is no longer viewable. I was not aware of the bandwith limitation. What is the use of "100 megs free" when you can only view a fraction of that. I have free webspace available from my ISP but I have been unable to get it to work. Stephan: No, I am not a rich man. I live a frugal life. My car is 18 years old. I live in a rural area where costs are low. Taxes are lower, land is lower, utilities are lower. I drive my car less than 3000 miles a year. I rarely take vacations except mandatory visits to relatives. I don't have cable or satelite TV. I don't subscribe to magazines. I get my magazines and videos free from the library. One must make choices and set priorities in life. RatonMan: See above. I am cheap. As Shannon mentioned, I have an operating session next Saturday. I have at least one opening due to a person cancelling. If anyone would like to come and operate with us they are more than welcome. The layout is located near Chehalis WA. That is half way between Seattle WA and Portland OR. David
David, you own a exciting layout. I would like to come to your operating session next saturday but its a very long journey for me - I live in Switzerland Stefan Railfan`s Homepage Railimages Gallery
I might offer you this suggestion which you and your friend might enjoy. Why don't you open an account in our railimages, and post the images there as well. When people view the pics, you add the pics to your posts here, or anywhere. Railimages is free. You will also be free of the annoying pop ups. The pics looked good and I enjoyed them.
I don't know if anyone else had the same experience, but when I opened that website, my computer suddenly was inundated with an unending stream of popups. I think RailImages is a much friendlier solution...
Just on a side note: To stop annoying pop-ups, install the Google Toolbar and activate the Pop-Up Blocker. It works great. Best of all, it's free. You can also take advantage of the other many features of the toolbar. But the pop-up blocker alone is worth the download. I am in no way affiliated with Google (wish I were - they are all probably rich) just a happy user.
Yes, RailImages is your solution for photos. Another good way to stop pop-up's is to use Mozilla. When you hit a web site with pop-ups, Geocities, etc., you can just right click in the pop-up and tell it not to accept pop-ups from that domain or whatever. As I have stated before, I prefer Mozilla (or Netscape to some people) to IE/OE anyway. Charlie
