Has anyone here has the Kato Double Crossover and Switch-Kat with DCC++ in the setup?

I just got the switch-kat and installed in the Kato Double-Crossover. When I throw the switch, the power to the track from the motor shield will turn off.

My power supply to the motor shield is 15V/5A. According to the switch-kat manual, it draws maximum 1A. and there is no loco running on the track when this occurred ..

I think your problem is the Kato Double Crossover draws to much power. I have seen reports of it drawing more than three amps. I don't know what the DCC++ system can supply, but even if it can supply more than three amps, it may see the sudden spike as a short.

The switch-kat is designed to supply no more than one amp - not sure what happens if you try to draw more than that from it, but I'm sure it's not good. The Digitrax DS-64 can power a double crossover off one output, and it has a capacitor discharge circuit built in, so the DCC system won't see as big of a hit on the power.
