Great info Don! I do my own installs, but for many Z Scalers who don't have the time, or have never done micro-electronics surgery before, this is a great solution.

I admit that I have burned out my share of decoders while doing installs, and at between $25-50 each, burning out a decoder can get expensive. I love the challange, and started with HO Scale decoder installs in 1995, into N Scale locomotives. I just followed the industry's decoder shrinks and kept up on it.

For Z Scalers who want to enjoy the many benifits of DCC, finding someone experienced is the most economical way, as you don't have to worry about burning up the decoders or ruining your locomotives, just let the DCC installer handle it.

Once you run with DCC, it's hard to go back to DC. Especially when you get into turnout decoders, and sound, and all the other great things in store for us Z Scale DCC users!:shade:
