I am looking for photos and decal set to model D&H sd 45 #801 in transition from EL to D&H . supposed to have blue nose diamond ad blue body stripe with "DELWARE AND HUDSON " on the stripe.need the decals in N_ scale. thank you
I have a few images of D&H SD-45's within the DHVM (See below link) that might be of help. As for decals, I don't know if they exist or not. I would post that question in one of the modeling forums. Might be also able to get help via Delaware and Hudson Modelers at: http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/delawareandhudsonmodelers Example: ------------------ Stourbridge Lion stourbridge_lion@yahoo.com Delaware and Hudson Virtual Museum

Based on questions about this paint scheme, I asked some friends on another site about this and this was the responce I received.
quote:
Ohh, this opens a whole can of worms. I researched this over and over, and it comes down to this, each one was a bit different, depending on the year. 801 had two different paste-overs on the nose, script lettering first, then a shield later on, around 78 or so. I found one picture on the web, one of them had long hood lettering done right over the E-L maroon, just a wipe of blue to wipe out the original lettering. As for body differences, remember that two of them, 801 and (I think) 803 had the "L" shaped cab window on the engineers side. Best suggestion is to pick out pictures that are right for the timeframe you want and go from there. I went for 1980. One of the better sources for pictures is the "In Color" Volume 2. A couple of really good shots there.

------------------ Stourbridge Lion stourbridge_lion@yahoo.com Delaware and Hudson Virtual Museum
