CV values for DN163K1A

    I'm new to DCC and I just put a DN163K1A in my KATO SD70MAC. I want to 'play' with the several CV values but where can I find an explanation and overview of all the values? The explanations in the instruction guide are unclear to me.

    I would go to the Digitrax website and download their decoder manual. In it you will find all of the CV values. Be aware that some only function with certain decoders.

    Mottow:

    CV 2 set to 30
    CV 3 set to 15
    CV 4 set to 20
    CV 5 set to 100
    CV 6 set to 150

    These CV's will get you started programming the loco's speed , acceleration and deceleration.

    The maximum values for CV 3 & 4 are 31.
    The maximum values for CV 2, 5 & 6 are 255

    You must play around with the numbers I have given you. It is a good "ballpark" number to start with.

    that's how most of my c44 are set up
