Folks, We are always learning to be better and one problem that we have discovered has to do with the custom avatar process. We do have a procedure in place and a manager over that process but the problem may be in large part that the messages back and forth that are necessary to make this work get lost in the world of spam. Therefore, we have devised a new procedure which will allow us to keep these from slipping through the cracks. The purpose of this message is to speak to anyone that had a custom avatar under construction and that process broke down somewhere along the way. There may, in fact, be none of those people - or, there may be a few. There have been times that people e-mailed me to say that they were working with Jake and never heard back from him and vice versa - times that Jake told me he could not get in touch with people that said they wanted a custom avatar. In all cases, people were trying to get in touch with others. If you are one of these people, please send me a private message with details and we will get you into our new program that will be without failure. If you are a person that simply wonders how to get a custom avatar, we offer these to people that support the site financially. Charlie
I'm new here and maybe I'm not tracking on this at all, but what if someone has their own avatar and wants to put it up on their profile? How does someone do that, as there doesn't seem to be that option on the edit screen...
In your profile, you can insert it as a picture. If you are thinking of doing so as seen in posts, that is available to folks who become a TrainBoard Supporter. Please click the "$" button in the first post above, to learn more.
How? When i go to edit avatar it only gives me the option of chosing one that's already there or not having one at all. Uploading one isn't an option at all...
You cannot use "Edit Avatar" for anything other than those already existing, for anything to appear as an avatar in posts. You can use "Edit Profile Picture", and it will show for those viewing your profile.
Okay, I just don't get it. You obviously have something you uploaded for your avatar. How does someone else do that?
As I wrote in post #3: "If you are thinking of doing so as seen in posts, that is available to folks who become a TrainBoard Supporter. Please click the "$" button in the first post above, to learn more."
