Just a note...I was in Beauharnois, Quebec last week and I'm sorry to say that the station there (1898) burned down and it was a great station. CSX switching crews were still using this building. I can post a before and after shot if needed.
Stationmaster, please do! And if you don't mind, post a copy on the New York Central forum here, as well. Thanks.
We love pictures Please post some for us! I bet it was a neat station... too bad it bit the dust. Harold
Hey guys, Stationmaster sent me the pix and here they are. What a shame. A Beautiful station gone. It will be obvious, but these are Before and After.
Stationmaster, Thanks for the pictures. That certainly is quite a loss Old stations seem to be fading quickly... snap those photos while you can! Harold
there was one here in town where there is a wye that joins the Weston,WV Main (and on into clarksburg,WV) and th Cowen Subdivision. the weston main never had a train rollon that lin into weston for 15+ years and the trackage was taken up in 1995 by CSX. there is about 3 miles of that mainline that is traveled from every 2 weeks to about 2 times aweek to service ETI, a company that makes CV piping from plastic pellets hauled in By CSX. occaisionally a pair of SD70MAC's or a cuple of -9's will rest in front of where the station burned down to wait for the Next Coal drag that needs assistance. Now there is a cinder block station (or should I say, office) that is just used for dispatching/relay . There is usually always a light on inside the building. Well eventually they'll all be gone, except for the ones that were bought to be preserved.
