Taken back in early October. Don't believe I've posted here before. Was getting onto Highway 61 from 245 near Bardstown Junction, when I saw this train moving slowly south. Figured I could race it to Belmont, and on the way, sure enough,a combine blocks the road and holds me up. I do make it to Belmont just in time,as the train rounded the bend and I took a series of shots.
Nice pictures. Same happened to me yesterday when I just drove to the station and there was a CSX rounding the curve. But, unlike you, I missed the good head on shot. I like looking at the area, too, like the ballast, road crossings, trees, straight track. Not level, but straight. Thanks again for posting the the pictures and welcome to TrainBoard!.
Yeah, that is a good spot, Lebanon junction is a good spot for northbounds, the old coal chute is still there and is easy to include in photos. Did you notice that track one is still jointed rail?
I filmed a video of a local heading north in Lebanon Junction back in October. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaqbBmfuXfQ]Lebanon Junction Local,10/10/07[/ame]
Welcome to Trainboard! Very nice runby shots! Got any more? BTW, you can get a free Rail Images account for posting your favorite railroad shots.
Welcome to Traiboard. The shot are excellent, but I love the video. I dont know why, but I like to see engines with the long hood forward.
