Has anyone seen the Crescent (#19 & #20) since October 12th? Are the sleepers located in front, forward of the diner, lounge, and coaches? My wife and I rode the Crescent north on 9/29 and south on 10/8, and the trips were MISERABLE!!! The sleepers were located at the rear of the consist, behind the diner, lounge, and coaches. Viewliners, being the lightest cars in Amtrak's fleet, were being whipped unmercifully by the heavier cars forward. Every time I rode the Crescent prior to this last time, the Viewliners were located forward of the heavier cars. This way the heavier cars dampened the motion of the sleepers which made riding and sleeping a pleasure. On the southbound trip, the manager of Crescent operations, Ms Ball-Hicks, rode in our car to check out rider complaints. She told me she just had a conference call and had been told that the sleepers would be relocated back to their original position ahead of the heavier cars. I now am curious if this had happened, or were we just being given "spin" to make us feel better.
