Option #1 reminds me of Canadian National, rather than CP or KCS. From 2,3,4, well, I really don't see much. #5 has an obvious stripe. Truly, none of the "options" are very creative efforts. None really shows much KCS reference. Simply adding KC to the old Beaver logo does nothing. It all ends up being CP with a very minor hint of KCS. Yawn.
I agree. Keep the maple leaf but replace the beaver with a flying crow, and you've paid homage to both.
