Does anyone know of a 2005+ roster or the CP? Also how long did the Alco C-630s last on the CP? Thank you ahead of time. Brian
"Canadian Trackside Guide 2007" has full listings of everything in Canada. My copy is in my car in the garage right now, but I should have it in a day or two. If noone else chimes in, I'll post a reply when available. Dave.
http://www.mountainrailway.com/CP204500%20Page%201.htm CP had only 8 C630s. All were what are known as C630Ms: MLW-built with Dofasco trucks. Except an earlier wreck, they were retired 1991-93. One was put back in service in 1994-95.
Thanks that really helps with the C630Ms. I know they have ES44AC and AC44CWs with SD90Ms (Do they still have these?), but not too many SDs. Only a huge number of SD40-2 and snoots. Ok thanks everyone.
As of Feb., 2007 ES44AC = 140 AC44CW = 438 SD40-2 = 370 SD40-2F = 25 SD40M-2 = 10 SD60 = 37 SD60M = 5 SD90MAC = 61 SD90MAC-H = 4 4-6-4 = 1 Other assorted = 547 Total of 1638 on roster. Dave. Note: These numbers are for CP, D&H, SOO, and STLH combined.
Thank you I really need that, what is the difference between an SD40-2 and an SD40M-2? I know the SD40-2F is a snoot.
SD40M-2s are other engines rebuilt to SD40-2 standards. The Aylth hump in Calgary has (had?) a pair of SD40M-2s that were SD45s and still look it. The SD40-2F is not a snoot. CP SD40-2s have a nose of intermediate length between typical US noses and snoots. The SD40-2F is a cowl unit, looking rather like an F45 with a 3-window cab like an early SD60M.
