I didn't take these pics, my dad did, he's a much better photographer than I could ever be. My parents took a short vacation to Canada last month and went on a road trip with some friends from Edmonton to Vancouver and he took some photos along the way. He knows I'm into trains, so he took these pics of an eastbound CP grain train headed by a trio of GEVOs through the Canadian Rockies for me: Any CP experts know more about this train and where it might be headed?
There are a lot of different originating points on the prairies where the cars would be distributed to, but first they'll get to Calgary. The train is returning empties from the West Coast, two of the train numbers would be 356 and 358. PS the location is just West of Field, BC
...What he said. Everything in the post above me is absolutely correct. The name of the location is Ottertail, if you want to look up more about it.
Great Photos and Gorgeous Scenery, but it must have been a real nightmare for the original surveyors.
I shall pick a nit and point out that only the lead unit is a GEVO ES44AC. The two trailing units are AC4400CWs. I only point this out as an excuse to comment on such lovely photos.
