Do kato's locos coplers that come with the loco when you buy it work with atlas roling stock couplers.

I assume you are refering to the new couplers now used by these companies. In my case at least they work quite well. [IMG]

i will be using the kato couplers on my mid train units as they seem to couple quite firmly together and i have no need to uncouple these locos

The Kato loco couplers also seem to couple well to M/T couplers so I would think that unless one wants magnetic uncoupling plus the slightly more realistic look of the M/T couplers there is no need to do a conversion on the Kato locos.

Much as I hate to be the nay-sayer, I have to say I've had problems with non-MT couplers not staying coupled when running on N Trak layouts. Well, maybe not that they uncouple per se, but they don't seem to have the same lateral play, and have tended to derail cars. This, of course, is just my experience, but I personally wouldn't recommend anything but MT.
