What do you folk use to convert a con cor passenger car coupler so that it will run with Kato passenger cars with the kato knuckle coupler. I was thinking about using Red Caboose Unimates but can't figure out what shank length to order. Thanks in advance
The Kato dummy coupler will connect with any Micro-Trains coupler, just needs to be done by hand. No problem for my Kato E-8 dummy to pull an eight-car passenger train coupling through an MT 1128 over 2% grades and 18" curves.
Any thoughts about using a Kato knuckle coupler here. It would be a much simpler conversion. You should be able to pop out the con cor coupler and pop in a Kato one.
