I've been doing some research with the idea of modeling the old Cottonbelt yard at Pine Bluff, Arkansas. I have quite a few photos, and a partial plat drawing of the yard. Can anybody aim me toward some good arial photos of the yard, say between 1940 and 1960? The Cottonbelt was a great line, and until Union Pacific bought it out a few years back they still made an occasional excursion run to St. Louis or to Tyler, Texas--hooked up the 819 and several private cars and made a day of it. The last time I was through there (16 months ago) the 819 was dismantled for routine servicing. The club was running low on funds and willing hands, so I don't know if it ever got reassembled. I'd welcome any updates, as well as information regarding photos. Thanks, Jim Robinson
Jim, welcome to Trainboard! Unfortunately I know nothing about the Cotton Belt, but I'm sure there is someone here who can help. A "ssw9389" just made two posts in the Cotton Belt forum about the museums, including Pine Bluff. Maybe he can help?
