Hey, all,
I was just wondering what your views were on Walters/cornerstone HO kits were. I bought the fire station it this weekend, and while the quality of the pieces seems good, the instruction sheet seems pretty sparse. Is it just me, or is this pretty much how all
the mfr's are?

Thanks

While I am an N gauger I have built Cornerstone kits and they all turned out really well. Instructions could be clearer but I don't think about it as I have so much kit building experience as well as scratchbuilding that the instructions included are a waste of paper. I can imagine that people that don't do much can find the instructions poor and they probably aren't willing to just get on with it because these kits aren't cheap. Maybe because these aren't really beginners kits the maker figures the builder knows what to do. This doesn't help much but all I can suggest is do it the best way you can and look at the picture more than you do at the instructions.

Shaummy,

I've bought a turntable and a water tower, and yes the instructions are more than sparse. They are inadaquate. The turntable parts did not fit together, and as far as the water tower, I started reading the instructions, after slaping myself awake, I was still very confused. To give you a picture I have detailed brass locos, built lots of structures, many with lousy instructions. These Cornerstone's are among the worst.

The intructions are kind of bland but great kits once finally put together, except for the turntable, which I gave up on.

Hmmmmm i dont accually know what the instructions are like as I have never really looked at them, I never build them how they are meant to be :D, but the cornerstone buildings are great kits, and have added a lot of new intresting buildings to the market... would be lost with out them.

Thanks everybody. I guess I should have said that I'm not having too much trouble getting the kit together. I'm just not used to a kit not exactly showing you where all the pieces on the sprue end up.

They are good kits to learn patience on!

Thanks
