This has got to be the coolest thing... i went to google and i typed in garden trains and garden railroad... they have movies of guys plowing snow with thier trains in the garden railways... how cool is that??? Here is a link http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=65313358685788682&q=garden+train&hl=en theres more video, definately something to check out..... but i am confused... is it ran on batteries? i think it is... but i dont think snow would be a great conductor of electricity..... but any one know? This thing is cool!!!! Edit - added http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2560683948493906471&q=garden+railway+snow&hl=en
Snow is a lousy conductor of electricity. The layout probably operates on 12, 18, or 24 Volts DC which would not be a problem with snow or even standing fresh water. On the other hand, salt water, or 120 Volts AC could be a problem. BTW, that's some great footage...thanks!
Good idea and interesting film. It evoked me the videos I took when my children were younger. The played with LGB trains in the garden and guinea pigs as well as bugies (inside!) were riders. Wolfgang
Excellent!! Certainly takes care of any fear I had of outdoor operation and destroying motors!! Great video...thanks for sharing. John
I would like to see a person build a working rotary snow plow after seeing all these locos through the snow... i bet if some one had the ability.. i bet you could take a powerful fan and figure out a way to duct it and make it throw snow.. it wouldnt work in heavy wet stuff... but man... wouldnt that be cool? plus you would move really slow... what more could we ask for? I like snow and i like to move slow!
