For my brothers layout I feel he needs a control panel for his power packs and switch machines. So I wipped up this quick little design in about five minutes The black boxes are the "power packs" and the little squares are the "Switch machines" Every switch machine will be marked by number. I figure the diagrams of the trackplan will be under a sheet of plexiglass or something to protect them. Now what materials should I use for the track diagrams? I want to make them colorful to avoid any confusion (Mainline blue sidings red) Thanks for your advice ahead of time
Use a color ink jet or laser printer to print out your diagrams. Then sandwich them between 2 thin layers of plexiglass. David
Drafting supply stores have colored tape that is quite narrow. I've seen it put on the back side of plexiglass, and then white paper put behind it for contrast. Comes in all popular colors. I've also seen where behind the white paper a dim light is put to further highlight the diagram. It can be overkill to do it though. Mark in Utah
Oh and I'll be mounting the powerpack for the switches underneath the control panel, for space reasons.
