I recently received a conditional offer of employment for BNSF in Alliance, NE. I was wondering how solid these offers are, should I not get my hopes up yet or should I start to get excited. I did my medical questioner so I am waiting for my medical exam and then my physical testing. Not sure what else to expect any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

not to get your hopes up, but I think if you've made it that far...you're in!

I,too, received a conditional offer of employment, the condition being that I had to take and pass the conductors qualifying exam and the student qualification period.
A story I like to tell is about an internet friend(now a BNSF engineer). He had been a switchman with CSX but quit when they tried to force assign him to Jacksonville FL. He was trying to get back into railroading. He needed to convince his fiance that this is what he wanted to do. I met him and fiance and told her what to expect. She was good with that and she gave him the "high green". At any rate he had feelers out with both the UP and the BNSF. The UP tried to get him twice, the first time just before he married and the 2nd time when he was on his honeymoon. But nada from the BNSF. I was still qualifying as an engineer on the Chicago-LaCrosse pool and I told my mentor about my friend and his desire. One day working back from LaCrosse,my mentor was chilling in the brakemans seat when suddenly "the light came on" and he got up and told me he had something for me. He gave me a slip of paper with a fone # on it and said that I should tell my buddy to call that number ASAP! I did just that when I got home, I e-mailed Rob with the fone #. Within 1 week of his call he had interviewed, got his physical and was scheduled for training!!!!! He was quite happy!!
So you see... you sound like you have it made! Go for it!

Well, I work for the other western Class 1 railroad, but on our railroad, when you get a conditional offer, that means you've got the job as long as you pass the physical, physical abilities test, and background check. Then of course, you have to pass the classes. You're almost there.
Study hard, and ALWAYS TAKE SAFETY VERY SERIOUSLY. ALWAYS.
