Anyone ever owned one? did it opeate ok and what was the minimum radius curve? I have 12 inch radius curves on my layout and my Mikado runs fine so does this mean a bigboy would run ok?

the con-cor(rivarossi) big boys run ok and can be made to run as well as the kato "mike" by making the tender electrically active . In stock form the tender is just along for the ride. Richmond Controls in Texas makes a very nice kit to make the tender active. 12 inch is about as tight as this unit will go and not look to funny with the overhang.

Please give me mor details on where I can get this Big Boy tender kit. I have two of them, the first one runs quite well, but newer one (last release had some siderod problems and needed quite a bit of adjusting.

richmond controls in texas makes the pickup kit for the Big-boy, they are 20.00us,fairly easy to install (i have done 12 or 13 so from ,so to me they are no big deal. the first one will take about two hours to do if you have never had a big-boy apart before.the instruction are pretty good and easy to follow. I do have some of these kits in stock. loco-leonard
