    There is more population East than west, hence more layouts, and hence more layouts featured of the east.

    There is less steam in N scale, so in N - the transition period is less represented than in HO.

    I agree wholeheartedly!!
    I am in process of building benchwork, and can use all the help I can get. I am no master woodworker, no master modeller or kitbasher. I like the quickie detailing articles, like the 5-min SD40-2, the Dazzle up your Dash 9's, and the rolling stock people kitbash from cheapo stuff. I am cheap by nature, and go for the deals. I am also a perfectionist, so nothing less than Kato, or Atlas-style performance will do. I like how NSR caters to beginners mostly. I also LOVED the in-progress article of Mike D's Rio Grande.

    I SHOULD subscribe... I buy every one at my LHS anyways. :D
