I've decided to model, in some small way, Columbia River Carbonates here in Woodland, WA.

I bought bench work to build a 30 inch by 18 inch space to build my layout, not very big but I think it'll work.

I modeled my layout using SCARM

I want the transloading station on the left. Passenger rail on the outside, freight on the inside. The carbonates factory on the right.

I've not done any planning for the rest, but wouldn't mind a passenger terminal on the straight track on the left (On the inside at the top of the hill.

I've accumulated a lot of photos of the Columbia River Carbonates facility, enough that I think I can model and 3D print their buildings.

I'm still waiting for track and pink foam to arrive. Switches are gonna kill me, I need six of them, and I'd like at least some of them to be powered. Anyone know how well T Gauge switches work?

I currently have only two piece of track snapped together.

Also, I can't find any of the 120mm straight track, TGuage is out of stock. I'd rather not have to use 60mm track in it's place, but it's available and would work.

I'll have to 3D print custom bridges since the two of them will be curved.

    Here's what I've done so far. :)

With luck I'll have more track by the end of the week. 20240319_175335.jpg

What's sobering is comparing the width of the rail to the size of the bolt and screw heads. That's when one realizes how small this is. o_O

    Keep it up! (y) :)

    It is crazy small.

I still have a lot of track to buy, mostly switches, but my order of track from March 11th finally cleared customs in LA. I might have it by Tuesday.

I got half inch thick pink foam glued on top of my benchwork, with a scale this small I didn't feel I needed anything thicker.

I need advice though on how to fill gaps between the slabs of pink foam. I'm not used to working with stuff this tiny.
