Geez, METRA can be persnickity, but the UTA sounds like they could teach METRA some
tricks! Sounds to me like you had a real jerkheimer boss. It's funny in railroading, a bad boss can last for a long time or they can wind up hoist by their own pitard! There was a YM on 2nd shift at Eola who never had any qualms about sticking to the yard crews just to keep them busy doing nothing of real consequence. He would load up crews he didn't particularly like with work that didn't need doing until another shift. One night I gave him payback and I was roundly applauded by the rest of the guys in the yard cuz they knew what I was doing! I related the story in one of my episodes on "Storytime with Charlie" thread on the Railfanning Discussions board. However he never learned a lesson,he kept up doing the same stuff and it is just a matter of time until he gets another good payback!

I worked on the Bus side of UTA. I think this guys biggest problem was he wanted to get rid of every one that had been there longer then him, He is one of those Collage boys, young & dumb. every one fired or that quite there in the past 5 or six years had worked for UTA longer then he did and most were older then he is.

If it wasn't for the fact that I don't like being coped up and around a lot of people, I could have killed him and spend the rest of my like living off the state, but I like my freedom too much and there is not a rail line close to the prison......well that that other thing they like to do in pison to the new guy, I'm pretty sure I would not like that either.
