All! I have just seen something Amazing at the Airline yard in Toledo! (former NYC, PC, Conrail & Now NS Yard) Mile marker 292.. I saw and have pictures of a coil car repainted NYC!!! First of all, Nice Pics second, WELCOME TO 'THE BOARD' But not last, The coil cars are MOST LIKELY NOT Norfolk Southern cars. Probably CSX coil cars. When Conrail was split between CSX and Norfolk Southern, all of the Ex-Conrail equpment for NS would be temporarily have the Reporting name, just before the number, in "PRR" ( Pennsylvania RailRoad) and the Ex-Conrail Cars to CSX were lettered to NYC (new York Central) in the same fashion. So I can almost Guarantee those Cars are CSX's. P.s. That is odd that It is still in NYC even after it has been completely repainted. [ 03 March 2001: Message edited by: A&A 6183 ]
Jacko, welcome to Trainboard and to the New York Central Forum. Sure looks good to see those cars with NYC and Numbers on them. They are in CSX colors, though, and The previous post is correct about CSX identifying cars as PRR or NYC. Wouldn't it be great if they had the logo below on them?
