Curenntly I am building an N scale railroad and I have been use Atlas track with standard Code 80 Peco switches. There is one area on my layout where I would like to use a Peco double slip switch. However, this switch only comes in Code 55. Can someone tell me if I will be able to use this Code 55 swicthe with my Code 80 track. I realize I may have to do some shimming to get them to work. However will Code 55 and Code 80 track work together. Please someone let me. Thanks, Caboose

The way Peco makes their code 55 makes it quite interchangable with their code 80(or ATLAS's) track.

( :( Got to learn to proof read :( )

I do believe the Peco uses a tall rail with half of it buried in the ties, thus it should connect to Atlas track easily as Catt indicated.

I use Peco C-55 throughout, except for some Kato bridges that use either C-80 or C-75(?). The rails meet almost perfectly, but there is very slight hump going from the Peco to the Kato. The difference appears to be only about 1-2 thousandths of an inch. You don't see any effect from bouncing. The only way you know it's there is by the "clickety-clack" sound of the wheels as they cross it ... which is actually kind of neat.
