CN Trains... 1500 feets above!

I just got a new scanner and scanned a few pics to show you what it's like to railfan in an airplane.

Mathieu, that first one sort of says it all. How many lanes are in that highway bridge, nine? built for trucks to run on and take all the business away from the rails. I enjoy airborne photos. Go Ducks!

 

Great shots! They give you a good idea as to the track layout, a good reference for modelers!

I have a buddy who has an air craft and I thought maybe I should take some pics from the air in Vancouver. How did you shot your shots - fast film?

 

I added more pictures if you're interested. I used a Minolta camera with 300 mm zoom lens. Kodak 400 film.

The most interesting things you can see from the air are actually long freight trains. I have seen some before but never had a camera handy. They look just like N scale models, but they run on realistic looking curves

 

Right! We should all look at these types of photos a lot more carefully. "Space" is real evident from the air.

I look for this kind of picture on calanders as well.

 

I would like to see more pictures if you have them.

 

these are great, I especially like this one below, houses, complete with swimming pools right up against the tracks, and the track configuration is fascinating, would be a great idea for a layout with great operating possibilities!
