I just got a new scanner and scanned a few pics to show you what it's like to railfan in an airplane.

Hope you enjoy it, I'll post more later

Mathieu, that first one sort of says it all. How many lanes are in that highway bridge, nine? built for trucks to run on and take all the business away from the rails. I enjoy airborne photos. Go Ducks! :D

Great shots! They give you a good idea as to the track layout, a good reference for modelers!

I have a buddy who has an air craft and I thought maybe I should take some pics from the air in Vancouver. How did you shot your shots - fast film?

I added more pictures if you're interested. I used a Minolta camera with 300 mm zoom lens. Kodak 400 film.

Thanks for the comments [IMG] :D

What a great perspective you get from up above! Just shows how much we modelers compress things [IMG]

The most interesting things you can see from the air are actually long freight trains. I have seen some before but never had a camera handy. They look just like N scale models, but they run on realistic looking curves :D :D :D

Right! We should all look at these types of photos a lot more carefully. "Space" is real evident from the air.

I look for this kind of picture on calanders as well.
