Piedmont, Montana. Note that the order addresses "C&M". Not the "C&E" you'd regularly expect. The "M" is "Motorman." Which was used in the early years of the electrification. January 7, 1920:

    Andy-

You betcha I do! Archival quality sheet protectors. A style that has a very lightly pebbled surface, but does not effect visibility. This helps eliminate the static cling you can find in some protectors.

Backed up by a sheet of plain old white, but guaranteed acid free 8&1/2 by 11, archival quality. The white background helps faded writing show a little better. And at the top, is printed any pertinent data about the order. All in a nice binder.

What you've seen, so far, is my CM&PS, CM&St.P stuff. There's not enough room in my album to upload the CMSt.P&PRR stuff! That would take at least 500 scans!

    Ken,
I am learning to appreciate these trainorders even more. I've had the opportunity to talk to former Milwaukee operator A.J. McFarland on many occasions and he always brings up stuff that he did, or trainorders issued. Reading these takes you right back to the situation at hand. Like the NP one about the Kanasket depot being on fire.

How is AJ these days? I haven't heard from him in several years. He's bought some Milw, NP, and other train orders that I'd offered for sale.

Oops! [IMG] Almost forgot- Yes. There is excellent info in train orders. A wealth of data in just one! Which is a reason I like them.

Also, as a big fan of depots, knowing, or having known so many agents, operators, telegraphers, dispatchers, it brings back memories of them, the depots, etc. Just better days in general!

Each one I have, is a slice in a "day in the life" of what once was- Railroading history! I can close my eyes, and for a moment, imagine. I have a time machine in my hands!

I'm here!!, I'm here!!!..I've been grovelling at the feet of the job market lately..and sorting through my own "archives", (actually, a few boxes of pics and stapled-together articles), I've been bitten by the modeling bug hard this time..hehehe..BTW, these are great

Any requests for stations not shown? That's all the CM&StP RY I have. But there's a bunch of CMSt.P&P RR to scan....

How 'bout a tuff one? [IMG] Garcia, Wa. on the west side of Snoqualmie Pass? It's my favorite place to go hiking. :D

[IMG] I wish! Have looked for years! Maybe some day! Too bad I'm not still living in NB. I was a five minute drive from Exit 38!

Last time I visited the area, was winter of 1999. Cedar Falls was unrecognizeable then. Which is one reason I don't chase ghosts. The sights pollute my memories of better days.
