I have been working on this "Clickable Trackplan" for the last couple of days. I think it is working okay, at least it does for me. Would people be so kind as to see if it all works from your computers. Just click on the small photo of the trackplan which takes you to the larger version. Once there, move the mouse around the plan. The pointer will change to a hand at various places on the trackplan, which allows photographs to be seen where you just clicked the mouse .Once you have looked at a photograph, use the back button to return to trackplan.

Great work Paul and a great idea to incorporate when I get more work done on the layout. Hope you don't mind me "borrowing" the idea.

That concept works really well on this ol' computer- and I'm running Win98 and IE6.0.

Where did you get the software for ths program??? [IMG]

BTW, awesome shots! Any chance this layout will ever grace the pages of a modeling magazine in the States?

    Friscobob & Boxcab,
I used Paintshop Pro and Image Mapper to do the job, took me a couple of days to figure out just how to do it, reading all "HELP" files available.

It will get published friscobob as I was talking on the phone to the editor of Model Railroading about it when he published my latest "Red Fox" layout, he was very interested in 0n30 stuff.
    Cheers all

This is awsome, Paul, and very well done. This has a lot of potential in many areas.

    Paul-

I'm not familiar with "Image Mapper?" Could you tell me about it?

    Thanks!

    Hi Boxcab
You will need a program similar in features to Paintshop Pro7 to upload a photograph. Once the photo is on screen go to "File/Export/Image mapper" from then on its just a question of what area's you wish to make into photographs. Very difficult to try and explain a new program that I have only been playing with for around 4 days now.
Here's a screen capture of it.

    Hi Paul-

So it's part of the Paint Shop program. Guess I'd better save up my pennies for some new software.... Hmm. About the time I get that far, some new RR model goodie will come out, and ..... you know the rest of the story!

its not actually a piece of software that makes the clickable areas, but a bit of HTML code within the page...for example, the sawmill area is coded as :

Dang it..... trainboard doesnt want to display the code....never mind.... Its a pretty simple line and you have a section like that for each clickable area. Those of you publishing pages in frontpage etc will be able to figure it out from the help section.

Works a treat Paul. Nice feature.

Hi Disisme, and thanks for trying it out.

Image Mapper which is inside Paintshop Pro7 does in fact write the code for you once you have outlined the area you wish to bring up as a photo.
