I have become interested in scratch-building or kit-bashing a class F70-17 flat car, the 85 foot ones built by ACF in about 1960. One of them was used in 1960 to transport a giant "Christmas tree" from Oregon to Washington, D.C., as a gift to President Eisenhower. I have a photo of that set-up in the SP Freight Cars Vol. 3 book. What I don't have are drawings of that car. I can kind of fake up the sides and top a little from the drawings, but I have little clue what is going on underneath. Does anyone have an idea where I might find some drawings of this car?
