My wife and I spent some time in the National Scouting Museum at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimerron, NM today. While there, I noticed a display about the logging railroad that was built to harvest trees to manufacture railroad ties. The railroad lasted until the trees ran out. Oh, and there was mining, so there's also a picture of a mine car. Sent from my moto g(7) play using Tapatalk
I wonder how many other similar stories could be told, from around the USA, about other operations like this one?
New Mexico is a great Chief stopover. I hate to think what Albuquerque is using as a depot now, since their grand old station burned.
