Well, I can't wait until the IRM gets the Electroliner finished. I did ride on the older North Shore for ~ 9 miles. It sure brought back memories from my chilhood. Does anyone know where there is any other CNS&M rolling stock? Here are a couple of links. IRM Homepage Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee Page
Dave, If you are looking for pictures try www.donross.railspot.com or www.rr-fallenflags.org if you are looking for real i can't help you!
Aren't there a couple of pieces of ex-CNS&M equipment located at trolley type museums? But far from their old home grounds? Boxcab E50
Yes, there are. There are some at the East Troy Electric Railroad Museum in Wisconsin, there are some in Illinois, at the IRM, where I rode for 9 miles, a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure there must be others, but I haven't tracked it all down yet. One of these days I will track down some more. These aren't that far from their home grounds. i know that the Electroliners were both run in PA, as Liberty liners for a while until one was purchased by the IRM, I'm not sure of the whereabouts of the other one. It may be at the Rockhill Trolley Museum in PA. [ August 23, 2005, 02:01 PM: Message edited by: DLK ]
Excuse me if it's a bit OT, but the wonderful Don Ross site seems offline since some weeks....what's happened??? I was searchins some images about trolleycars... ThankU Stefano Milano-Italy
I just tried the web site & found it with no problems. I don't know why you should have problem. It is a good site.
Oh, damn! Probably it's my provider, but from italian net that site is unreachable......:-((((( Thanks.
I'm not sure when they started the project, but it is a way from being finished. The outside is finished and they are still working on the inside and the motors. It is a lon 7 EXPENSIVE project. You might want to check out their website. http://northshoreline.com/liner.html Enjoy.
Oh it's a total refurbishment! I know I saw it in it's Valley Forge colors when they first got it. I'm pretty sure they repainted it to the Electroliner shortly thereafter. It was looking quite sad a couple of years ago, I wonder if the repainted it again???
