I recently had the fortune of finding some train orders copied on the very last day this railway conducted regular operations. Thought there might be a person or two who would be interested in this classic interurban company, so if curious, they can be seen here: https://train-orders.com/TOUR/C/CNSM2/CNSM2.html
Great Find. That being said, all of the orders displayed are all 'Run Extra' orders for specified equipment. To ME - more interesting would be 'Meet' orders or other types of orders that are displaying the Train Dispatchers thought processes in running 'THEIR' railroad.
By this time, the CNS&M had little ongoing. It was the end of the line, abandonment came within a couple of days. So meets would probably have been a thing of the past. I have plenty of other railroads which have meet orders on my website.
Neat that these were saved. When the North Shore shut, it was almost immediate. Commuters who'd ridden into Chicago that morning found themselves without transportation to get home.
They ceased regular operations on January 21, 1963. Then January 22-24th, did "cleanup" work and that was the end....
