Hello everyone, just wondering, what was the best model price you have got? i once bought 3 pacific fruit express reefers for $3 each, the reason they were so cheap was that they had broken boxes. i thought it was great, and they run very well, and only derail if they are crashed into by something! my local hobby shop has some diesels very cheap too as they arent selling, $50 i think, but im not sure what sort they are, SD40s or somethign similar [IMG] If my budget allows i will grab one.

That's a very good price UPSteve!

I was catching up on the latest adds, looking through my 1950 Model Railroader, (I'm a slow reader), but there are some adds in there for $1.35 so you did get a bargin! Most reefers and box cars sell for $2.85 and I'm still saving up for one of those!

    (Pulling your leg!) :D

I like to go to local train shows. Until recently I could always find Athearn cars, new and used, in the $2.00-$3.00 range. The last show I went to I managed to buy 7 cars at $3.00 each and another 3 cars for $10. Some of the cars had Kadee couplers and one even had Kadee trucks and wheels. I usually don't find that good of deals at the GATS shows so I have stopped going. The entrance fee of $7.00 is excessive when compared to local shows.

Last year at the Lynden Lions show I picked up 3 extruded aluminum passenger cars for $5-$10 each. One was almost RTR and the others needed some work, but when finished I now have 3 brass equivelant passenger cars for $25! This year at Lynden I picked up a Proto 2000 CB&Q SD9 for $35, which I thought was a screaming deal. THey had boxes of $35 protos, but they were mostly east coast roads I have no use for. Oddly enough, I just didn't find thatmany things I thought I needed this year, but that happens sometimes too.
