hello i just joined the board, and i also just purchased a Con-cor New york Central Budd car and i want to change the trucks to micro-trains trucks. but i noticed the truck is screwed on so how do i install the micro-train trucks on to the body?
First you have to remove the shell. There are some clear plastic "hooks" that you can see in four places if you turn the car over and look along the edges of the floor. They are part of the window assembly. You need to slide a small screw driver or blade between the black floor assembly and these clear plastic hooks to spread the shell away from the floor so it will slip out. Once the shell is off you need to hold the metal weights on the inside over each truck with something like a needle nose pliers while unscrewing the screw holding the truck on. Replace the truck and tightend the screw back into the weight on the inside. Once the trucks are both on, snap the shell back on.
