I was a little bit disconnect from Amtrak news these days... I plan a trip from Miami to Montreal mid-december. What are the chance to see Amtrak on the rail for this trip???
(ie. should I reserve my airplane [IMG] ticket already?)

Political inertia being what it is, it's probably safe to plan on the train. I don't think Amtrak is going away just yet.

I have reservations on The Empire Builder
travelling from Seattle to Chicago-New York in mid September. I'm certain that Amtrak will still be around but will they continue to run these long distance trains?

Guys, ride Amtrak and support them!

My hopes of riding Amtrak this year to Virginia have been dashed to bits. :(

I hope to reschedule for the winter months after the new year.

    Enjoy!

If you have the TIME & MONEY, go Amtrak. It's a great way to travel, my son & I have been taking Amtrak trips for over 5 yrs now and we both love it - he likes the superliner equipment but prefers the viewliner sleepers because of the tv and upper berth window.

The only way anybody is going to know that these trains are worth running is to ride them anmd help the ticket sales go up up up....congress may be wasteful, but they would stop funding a road with empty trains. Roll on Amtrak roll on!!
